Milliken's Monthly Media Minute
Cox Mill High Library Media Center
October 2017
“We make up horrors to help us cope with the real ones.”
― Stephen King
GENREFICATION Update
We are CHANGING…
The fiction section is being reorganized by GENRE: this means that books from the same categories will be grouped together.
This will help you quickly find books that you like without searching the entire fiction section. Each section is arranged alphabetically by author’s last name. Genrefication is completed for the following sections: Adventure, Classics, Fantasy, Graphic Novels, Historical Fiction, Horror, LGBT, Mystery, Romance, Science Fiction, and Sports. We should finish the whole fiction section next month.
Classes in the Media Center
Do your students need help with image citations? Do they need help with proper MLA paper formatting? Do your students need help with research? Do you need an interactive lesson? Do you need a great place for student presentations? Please see Mrs. Milliken if you want to schedule a collaborative lesson.
Intervention / Homeroom
I have 40-70 students in the media center during the intervention block each day, so I do not have space during intervention for students to meet their friends from other classes in the library to socialize. If a student leaves the media center during intervention, I sign their pass with the time they leave.
