Holy Name of Mary Spring Update
March 2022
Welcome Back
As we return to class with the news that masks are no longer mandatory in school or on busses, there are certain illness/COVID procedures detailed below, that will remain in place and that we encourage all families to follow to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff and their families.
We are planning events for later this Spring where we will open the doors to our HNOM families once again. For some parents/guardians, this will be the first time that they have been in the school! We are looking forward to our students showing their families our school and meeting their teachers. We will inform our families when we have more details.

Ms. Koehler receives Award
Ms. Koehler will be honored for this achievement at a presentation later this year.
Congratulations on a well-deserved recognition Ms. Koehler!
WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME
If your child passes the school screening but is still feeling unwell (cough, runny nose, sneezing) we ask that you keep your child at home until they are able to take part in classroom activities. This will assist in keeping other students in the class and your child's teachers healthy.
Masking after travelling or sick
NEW GUIDELINES: The Health Unit has indicated that anyone that has had to isolate for 5 days as per directions on the screening tool, must wear a mask upon returning to school for days 6-10 including during gym and recess.
Food Orders Close on Thursday
A reminder that Cash Online closes this Thursday, March 24 at midnight for families wishing to purchase pizza, milk and/or subs for their children for the period April 1 - June 3.
Catholic School Council
NOTE: We anticipate that our next Catholic School Council meeting will be held in person at the school.
Easter
Earth Day
Change of Clothes/Indoor Shoes
Please ensure your child has indoor shoes to wear as students should not be moving through the school without shoes on. Outdoor boots are not to be worn in the classroom/hallway/gym. Should there be a fire alarm or if students need to leave the school quickly for any other reason, students will not be able to return to their class to retrieve their footwear.
CALLING IN ABSENCE
NOTE: Please do not contact your child's teacher via email or TEAMS after 9 am regarding absences/lates/early pickups as the staff member will be busy with their classes and may not see your message. A telephone call to the school office will ensure your message is received.
EARLY DEPARTURE
NOTE: We have decided to continue with the procedure currently in place regarding early dismissal as it has been effective and efficient. When you arrive at the school, we ask parents/guardians to call the school office and a staff member will bring your child out to you.
