We have a lot of information to share with students and parents!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATTENTION SENIORS!
Please set up your senior meeting with your Counselor!
This is when we will talk about college applications, how to get letters of recommendation, and answer any other questions you might have about planning for life after high school!
To request a meeting please do the following:
1) send an email to Mrs. Rinker in the Counseling Center
2) include in that email the best days/times for your meeting (approximately 30 minutes)
3) also include the best way to contact you (school email, personal email, cell phone)
ALSO
Please sign up to attend a Senior Seminar!
Senior seminars are continuing next week in the College and Careers Center. Counselors will teach you how to complete the Common App, request transcripts, letters of recommendation and lots more! The remaining seminars will be held October 1st & 2nd. You only need to attend one session.
Please see Mrs. Rinker in the Counseling Center or Mrs. Dailey in the Library to check availability and sign up.

Greetings from the University of Rochester!
I realize the challenges navigating the college search process in a virtual setting poses, and would like to extend myself as a resource for you and your families.
My plans for fall virtual travel are well underway including “stopping by” for a virtual visit on: 09/28/2020 at 11:15AM
In preparation for the visit, students are encouraged to pre-register: Event-Link
Some important highlights that may interest your students include:
- Rochester students study what they love, with no required subjects. They can double or triple major and take advantage of free lessons at the Eastman School of Music.
- 77% of students engage in real research, as early as their first year.
- 95% of students participate in internships.
- The University meets full demonstrated financial need for admitted students.
- The University of Rochester continues to be test optional. Students are not required to submit standardized test scores as part of their application.
To learn more, visit enrollment.rochester.edu, join us for a virtual event, or take a virtual tour. If you have any questions before I visit, contact me at (585) 275-3221.

UK is implementing a test optional policy for the 2021-22 academic year.
UK is test optional for the 2021-22 academic year as a response to the challenges that prospective students are experiencing in registering for and taking these standardized tests. Our test-optional policy will allow freshman applicants the option to apply for admission without submitting ACT/SAT scores. We will have more information about academic scholarship requirements, as well as admission requirements for selective majors, in the coming weeks.
Answers to FAQs about test optional can be found here.
The Fall 2021 application for undergraduate admission is now available to students via the Common App, myCoalition application or UK application.
December 1 is the Early Action deadline to apply for admission, the Lewis Honors College and academic scholarships.
Come visit! Students are able to visit UK through an in-person campus tour (registration required) and/or virtual campus and housing tours. Academic departments are currently offering primarily virtual visit opportunities for students, but there are limited in-person meetings available.
Encourage your students to register at visit.uky.edu.
We are excited to host three virtual open houses this fall. Encourage your students to join us online.
