HUSKY HIGHLIGHTS
Parent News November 16, 2020
THANKFUL
This week my heart is filled with grattitude for all of our Husky Family. I am thankful for our teachers, their hard work, their grit, flexibilty and true dedication to the education of our students. I am grateful to our parents and your trust, patience as things did not quite always work as it should, and your support. I am thankful for the understanding and the grace as we have navigated our way through these uncharted waters the past 12 weeks of school. I am thankful for a supportive community that knows no matter what, we love your children like they are our own...because they are. I wanted to leave you with words that were written on an survey given to my staff this past week - the question - WHAT IS BRINGING YOU JOY AT SCHOOL:
- My team. My students.
- Laughing with students, watching them play and learn.
- My face to face kids. I truly am sad at the end of my zooms because I do not see those online kids until the next day.
- I love seeing and building these relationships with the students.
- The students and teachers I get to see every day.
- My kids are amazing. I have such a great group this year- they bring me joy every day :)
- Seeing students returning to school!
- Seeing my school babies and trying to make the best of this situation.
- My students this year bring me joy, and my team!
- When I see a kid smile so big you can see it in their eyes, that's joy. This says they are happy to be here.
- The kids are bringing so much joy!! They are happy and so agreeable. They are kind and respectful and they seem to get that everyone is doing the best they can.
- My team! and their willingness to help out on any given task without question! Of course the students as well and seeing their little masked face every single day because they are counting on us!
- Having my kids in class. Despite all the other "stuff" that's happening in our world today, this is the ultimate; having my kids back in class.
- Even though we can't high five/hug we still have great opportunities to connect. Seeing their faces (in person and on zoom) and listening to them talk about their lives is giving me JOY!
- My students and their enthusiasm for learning.
- Joy is seeing small victories in my students.
- My kids love being here. They don’t notice the things that stress me out or how different it is. They’re just happy to be here.
- The fact that kids are back in school and so eager to learn. It's wonderful to see their smiling faces in the morning.
Sometimes we forget that we do have things to be thankful for. I hope you take time over Thanksgiving Break to focus on what we CAN celebrate along the way, because no matter what is happening in the world around us - YOUR CHILDREN BRING US JOY and they are happy when they are at school.
Wishing you all a wonderful, restful and JOYFUL week full of blessings.

Note from the Superintendent
I am reaching out to the BISD family to ask for your help. Tarrant County continues to see a rise in COVID-19 cases. This rise in cases is also being reflected in our schools.
It is vital that you stay home (and keep your student home) if you or anyone in your household are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.
In addition, I am urging students and staff to please stay home if you have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results. We have issues with individuals being tested, then still coming to school/work while waiting for the test results.
Please take a moment to stop and think about how your choices outside of BISD impact our schools. Individual decisions have the potential to impact everyone inside our schools significantly.
It is important to support our staff, which is diligently working to keep students safe and healthy while at school. The best way for you to show your appreciation for our amazing team is by doing your part to keep them safe and healthy.
Thank you for your continued support of the BISD family.
NO CHARGE MEALS FOR ALL STUDENTS!
