English Reading Series: PETER NABOKOV

Peter Nabokov s a writer, researcher and teacher who has been working within and studying about American Indian cultures for fifty years. Currently a professor in UCLA’s Department of World Arts and Cultures and American Indian, he has lived among Lakota, Navajo, Crow, Penobscot and Alabama-Coushatta native communities. His numerous books have covered a range of topics, from a Crow warrior’s life story: Two Leggings; a history of Indian-white relations through Indian eyes: Native American Testimony; an illustrated overview of American Indian architecture: Native American Architecture; to studies of American Indian running customs: Indian Running; American Indian concepts of historical knowledge: A Forest of Time; and American Indian traditions of sacred places and ecological knowledge: Where The Lightning Strikes.
