Titan Tidbits-Staff Edition
Volume 2, Week 34: April 20-24, 2020
General Announcements:
Planning Ahead: The Academic Team and Administration will be meeting right after Spring Break to begin getting a game plan together of what more eLearning could look like if we have an extended closure. PLEASE DO NOT begin working on another set of eLearning Lessons until you have heard from us!
UPDATE to Planning Ahead (paragraph above): I have a Principal's Meeting on April 21 and will hopefully know more after this. I do, as of today, know that the district has been working on a timeline of eLearning as well as other items in the event that the Governor and Molly Spearman will cancel school the remainder of the year. Please note, as always, when I learn more and can share more, I promise to. I know that many fear the unknown and not being able to control life... for now, focus on your own sphere of control (as a number 1 this is challenging for me). Focus on loving on your students and families virtually and soaking up that additional time with our families.

Paper/Packet Pickup (same information was sent in an email)
It was great to see most everyone today, even if it was only for a bit and from a distance!
Shoutout to our Academic Specialists, Michelle Brown, and Shar for preparing and distributing Pink and Blue Sheets! This was no quick task and you made it happen with promptness and positivity! THANK YOU!!!
Thanks goes out to the McCormacks (Jen and Mark), Jill Fuller, Christy Scott, Lisa, and Hartley for handing out and delivering Paper/Pencil Packets!!! Thanks also to all the teachers that delivered packets to your children today to ensure that they were able to continue with eLearning! And thank you for continuing to update us on who would be collecting packets, which students no longer needed them, etc. THANK YOU!!!
Tasks like the ones above and what you're doing each and everyday were not what we went to college and trained for. Our students are fortunate to be supported by our village and I'm proud of you and blessed that each of you are Titans! If nobody has told you today, we appreciate you and the tireless efforts you've exhibited and continue to exhibit. Without you, none of this would be possible!
HERE is the updated list (make sure you look at TAB 2-Need Paper Packets) of who has picked up or had paper packets delivered. We are not perfect, so check our work. Please let me know if you discover there is someone else on here that is using a paper packet.
Thank you for all you do!!!
eLearning Reminders
Reminder of Expectations with the Launch of 2nd Phase of eLearning:
1. You should be attempting/making phone or video contact with each of your students. Please make sure you’re taking to the child, not just the parents, if at all possible. Please note that contact should go beyond just emails. If you are hosting Google Hangouts/Meets, this would count.
a. To protect yourself, please plan to contact at least 2 students each day and document this in your office hour log.
2. We have had a few parents complain about Zoom after watching a segment on CN2, please make sure that you are using Google Hangouts/Meets. If you are struggling to use this, please reach out to Rachel Holloway/Geoffrey Wagner about this. I know many have had issues with sound and video quality. You should not be using Zoom unless it is with other adults.
Happy Birthday Titans!
