- Weight- Students compared objects weight by using a balance scale and the words heavier than, and Lighter than.
- Volume-Students compared objects capacity by measure full and empty cups to and pouring. They used the words it holds more, and it holds less.
Unit 5
Comparing Quantities
- Students began to compare quantities this week using the words, Fewest, least, lesser, fewer, more, greater, most, and greatest.
- First KA compared cube towers, by lining them us and noticing which one was longer. The longer cube stick had more cubes, and so the number was greater.
- After we played games that involved comparing two groups of objects by lining them up 1:1 (giving them partners). They could visually see which number was greater. Then we played games organizing a several groups of objects in order from greatest to least. We also played a game were students raced to figure out which numbers were greater or less than each other using only the abstract number and no objects. For example giving numbers (11 and 17 which is greater, which is less).

Hola Familias de KA
I am happy to share that KA is doing a fabulous job in Spanish. In the past few weeks they have been learning the colores in Spanish by using the phrase ¿qué color es? and answering it by saying loud and proud: amarillo, verde azúl, rojo, etc. Moreover, they have been learning the figuras in Español by using the phrase ¿qué figura es? and answering: triángulo, círculo, cuadrado o rectángulo, to this question. Adding on, everyday we identify what day of the week is in full sentences, hoy es viernes and practice our numeros in Español. We are looking forward to keep getting immerse in the Spanish language and have fun at the same time that we learn more about the world through it lenses.

ART in December!!
Last week they began exploring Jamaican foliage by looking at images of rain forests in the Caribbean. They designed jewelry inspired by the leaves they saw and soon they'll be mixing a great deal of yellow and blue to create a rainforest for their classroom!
There’s tons of amazing ART on view in NYC this month! Enjoy!
Please have a Happy and Creative Holiday!
