Picture Day is Coming!

October 18th through October 20th, all in-person freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will participate in school pictures during their English classes.

October 18th- freshmen photos

October 19th- sophomores photos
October 20th- juniors photos

HR Imaging (our photographer) will mail a flyer to you with ordering details. If you have questions about purchasing photos, please contact HR Imaging at (815) 433-1766. If you have other questions, please contact Libby Sutherland at (331) 228-6237.


Graduation Information

The Class of 2022 Commencement Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 23, 7:30 pm at Northern Illinois University. Detailed information can be found on the CCR website under Graduation Information.

All seniors must complete this survey by the end of September to provide the school with cap and gown sizing information and diploma name formatting information.

The cap and gown you receive is a “Keeper”. You will not need to return it after the ceremony. Caps and gowns will be distributed during lunch hours on May 16 and 17. All fees and fines must be paid before you can receive your cap and gown.

Financial Aid Night

The D303 Financial Aid Night will be hosted on Monday, September 27th beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Norris Cultural Arts Center (NCAC) at St. Charles East HS. Mary Crowe from Elgin Community College’s Financial Aid Office will be on hand to provide an overview of the college financial aid process and to answer questions from the audience. This event is open to all students and parents.

Fall Testing

The Fall PSAT date is 10/13/21. 9th grade students will be taking College Board's PSAT8/9. This will be an online exam and students will need their Chromebooks.

10th & 11th grade students will be taking College Board's PSAT/NMSQT exam in the traditional paper & pencil format.

More details about the fall testing will be shared as we approach test day.

Hey North Stars, here’s a little secret, successful students ask for help. So, if you are having any academic difficulties or questions, you can find many helpful resources available on our LRC/ Academic Tutoring webpage.

Peer Tutoring

PEER TUTORING is a wonderful academic support service sponsored by our National Honor Society that provides tutoring in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language, and more. It is available virtually via Google Meet on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 pm. Use the Google Meet code “peertutoringscn” to join the group or schedule an appointment by scanning the QR code on the Peer Tutoring infographic that is posted on our LRC Academic Tutoring website (link is highlighted above.) Students can also contact Mr. Von Essen by email with any questions.


THE SCN WRITING AND READING CENTER is a fantastic support program available Monday - Friday in the LRC during 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th periods. Students may also submit their writing for online comments by completing the Online Submission Form 2021-22. The Writing Center’s Google Classroom code “nf4hq5r.” Eating lunch is allowed in the Writing Center!


SPANISH TUTORING is available every Tuesday at 2:30 - 3:15 in the LRC Courtyard A. Students may also meet with a Tutor during their Study Hall / Free Period. Simply fill out the Spanish Tutoring Request Form to make an appointment.
