Gilbert Public Schools Family Newsletter - May 15, 2020
Dear GPS Parents and Families,
The end of the school year is upon us! It is an exciting time when we celebrate all of our students from preschool through 12th grade. The end of this school year undoubtedly looks and feels different from past school years. But, the pride our teachers and staff have in your children and all they have achieved remains constant. This week and next we are celebrating in new creative and innovative ways, showing our children just how special they are. Please join me in congratulating all of our students for closing out this school year strong!
Students, I am so very proud of you. This year has presented challenges and you have all risen to the occasion, continuing to learn and support each other. Please take a moment to celebrate what you have achieved this school year. If you are a senior, the celebration is even more important. You have achieved so much and I honor you and look forward to what comes next for the Class of 2020. For all those who would like to join us in celebrating our graduates please see below for information on our live-streamed graduation ceremonies.
To our parents and families, thank you! Thank you for all you have done to support your student's learning during this time. We live, work, and learn in the very best community and I am honored and proud to be part of something so special. Please read this week's newsletter for important updates and information.

Families of Students Grandfathered into Former Boundaried Schools:
This is a reminder that the Grandfathered Bus Routes and Bus Stops created for one year only will be discontinued for school year 2020-2021 and beyond. There is an ongoing commitment, however, to continue to allow an automatic open enrollment to your former boundaried school until all of your children graduate from Gilbert Public Schools. We thank you for your understanding regarding this decision as we continue to drive greater efficiencies in GPS Transportation so that monies can be maximized into our classrooms and schools.
