News from Mrs. Dutt for Parents

Happy Autumn! I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the changing of the season. By now, I hope you have accessed your Parent Portal to check on your child's grades and progress thus far. If you have not already registered or accessed your portal, please do so. The report cards for Marking Period 1will be available in the portal shortly after November 7, 2018. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's achievement please reach out to their teachers and/or counselors.

Middle School Activities

Middle School Activities will be holding a kickball tournament the second half of unit lunch October 9-11. It is $3 to play and signs up will take place during lunch the week of October 1-5. Raindates for the kickball tournament will be October 16-18.


The second middle school dance of the year will be Friday, October 19 from 6:00-9:00. Pizza, candy, and drinks will be available for purchase.

High School/All School Activities

The Fall Play "The 39 Steps" production dates: Friday, November 16 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 17 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm.


Robotics Team: The season for Middle School kicks off on October 30th and for High School November 6th. There is still time to join!


The North Warren Marching Band will be hosting their Home Show on Oct. 20th at NWR. High School Marching bands will attend from all over the state. Refreshments and crafts will be available.


The School Store opened last week. We are stocked with new inventory, including apparel. Come see our new items!


There will be a school-wide Pep Rally during Spirit Week on Friday, October 26th.


Homecoming week activities:

1) Homecoming court (5 senior boys, 5 senior girls): nominations and voting will be via Google Forms.
2) Hall decorating: Red, white and blue theme on Monday, October 22 after school.
3) Homecoming Dance: Friday, October 19th in the HS gym 7-9:30 PM. 4) Spirit dress days for the week: Monday - PJs, Tuesday - Twin, Wednesday - Hippie, Thursday - Gym Class Hero, Friday - Red, White and Blue
5) Homecoming Tailgate - Friday, October 26th. 5-7 PM in student parking lot. Car show during tailgate.


Safe Trick or Treat will be held at 4:30 on October 30. Come see what our staff and students have in store for your little ones!

School Highlights

The NWR Band has performed exemplary throughout the early competitive season, winning first place every weekend. The Home Show is a staple of the NWR fall event list and routinely brings hundreds of students and parents to our school. Homeshow will be Saturday, October 20th. Competitive bands in the USSBA will attend and perform in the adjudicated event. NWR, as the host band, will perform last. Please come support the best band in the area!!!
