Jean Bullant
French Architect | smore by: Spencer Dias
Ècouen, France is where this architect was born and spent most of his life. The town is just inside the Paris Metro area.
Bullant studied in Italy and got inspired by the Roman Architecture.
After coming back from Italy, he started his career in architecture. Most of his structures are in Ècouen. He eventually got a patron, Catherine de Medicci. He is well known for working on the Louvre and the Tuileries.
Here's a church in Ècouen he designed:
Church of St.-Acceul
The church was designed and built sometime between the 16th and 17th century. The name of the church was most likely changed due to the fact that the church does not appear on Google Maps. The church itself must've meant something to him, because it was a church in his home town. There are signs of Mannerism and Roman architecture in the church structure. But I do not think Bullant or this structure relate to any "-ism"
