February News
What's happening at HGECC?
February is Fabulous!
This month we are looking forward to our annual Messy Night that features hands-on, messy science activities! Flyers have gone home, and we are asking you to please RSVP to this event so that we have enough "messiness" to go around. It's always a fun night to let kids get their hands dirty!
We also have kindergarten screenings coming up here at HGECC on March 6th and 7th. All kids entering kindergarten in August of 2018 should participate in our screening. Please call 816-316-5522 to get your child scheduled!
Looking forward to a fantastic month of learning at HG! Your children learn so much and teach us so much as well! We enjoy having them here!
If you ever have any questions at all, please feel free to call or email me. I am always happy to meet with you!

Conscious Discipline: Did you know?
I Love You Rituals build positive, lifelong bonds between adults and children. All activities help children increase their attention span, reduce hyperactivity, build self-esteem, and facilitate language development. The interactions teach children how to be kind and caring using gentle touches. (www.consciousdiscipline.com) I love you rituals give parents an opportunity to develop strong loving connections with their children.
Attention: Bus Riders
We are continuing to have many instances where children are being brought back on buses because no-one was there to get them off of the bus or they did not have their yellow bus card.
Please make sure you are observing the 10 minute timeframe on either side of your drop off time (ex: if your drop off time is 4:27-be at the bus stop by 4:17 watching for the bus). It is very hard for your children to have to be brought back to school and wait for sometimes an hour to be picked up.
Please check your emergency contacts as well, be sure they can help out in a pinch.
As a reminder-after a child is brought back three times, bus services will be discontinued until a meeting occurs with Mrs. Collison to problem solve some solutions.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
