Tennessee Valley Authority
The TVA started May 18, 1933 and is still in operation today. It was started to provide flood control and hydroelectric power and also created jobs as a form of relief.
It successfully created thousands of jobs and flood relief. This helped the unemployment rate by giving people in need of a job, a job. The wealthy and the people that already had jobs were affected by this because the dams they created produced hydroelectricity for the towns. The leader of this program is Tom Kilgore. To this day the TVA has created 46 dams and has repaired many more.
