Are you interested in furthering your education? Berkeley County Schools and Blue Ridge Community College have partnered to offer an associate of applied science degree opportunity for interested staff members.

Q: Is this a degree?
A: Yes, this is an opportunity to earn an AAS Board of Governors DEGREE.
Q: What does this cost?
A: The cost is minimal, the first semester has no cost. Blue Ridge is working to keep costs as low as possible. There may be book costs as the program progresses but nothing else.
Q: I have Work 199 credits. Do they count?
A: Yes, the program is 60 credits and those will count as your electives.
Q: I have some college credits. Will that count?
A: Most likely. Each student will be assessed individually to apply previous college credits where ever possible.
Q: I have certificates and life experience. Can I use that?
A: Yes, in the first semester everyone will take the portfolio class. This course is being offered at no cost and no fees, and no cost to post any credits you are awarded.
Q: What counts as life experience?
A: Great question, certificates, owning a business, Serve Safe, CPR, CDL, trainings through the school system, and so much more.
Q: What if I only need a few classes?
A: We will graduate you as soon as we can.
Q: How long is the program?
A: The program is two years.
Q: Is the program online?
A: Yes.
Q: Will I get help if I need it?
A: Yes, Dr. McDonough is your advisor and instructor for the first semester and several course throughout the program.
Q: Can I do this – I have been out of school XXXX years?
A: YES – YOU CAN.
Q: What will I need to do this?
A: A computer, internet access, and the willingness to do it.
Q: Will this program transfer?
A: Yes, there are many transfer options to earning your Bachelor’s degree.
