📢 ~ Important Attendance Reminders ~
Unexcused Absences
If you are absent from school without your parents’ permission, your absence will be recorded as “unexcused.” Your parents will be notified of your truancy and you will be assigned before- or after-school detention to make up the time and work that you missed. Continued truancy from school will result in your being assigned additional consequences.
When Arriving to School Late
You will be marked late if you arrive after first period begins. If you arrive late to school, you must . . .
Go to the main office for an admit slip before going to class.
Give the secretary a written note from your parents, doctor, or dentist in order to be given an “excused” admit pass. If you do not have a written excuse, your lateness will be recorded as an “unexcused” absence from the period(s) you missed.
Take your admit slip to your teacher.
Find out what work you missed and make sure that you make it up.
Consequences for Unexcused Tardies
Tardy 1-2: Teacher warning: remind the student of the need to be on time.
Tardy 3: Phone call or email: notify parents of the continuing problem with tardies.
Tardy 4-6: Student assigned lunch detention.
Excessive Tardies: Attendance Secretary submits office referral; student assigned Administrative Discipline.
⏲️ REMEMBER TO SET YOUR CLOCKS AHEAD ONE HOUR
📢 ATTENTION! Check our lost & Found bin ‼️
We also have a collection of earbuds, jewelry, glasses, and keys in the office. Please have your student(s) check with office staff if they are missing any of those items.
🎉 Congratulations to our February students of the month 🎉

📢 🚶♀️🚶♂️ TRACK REGISTRATION IS OPEN ‼️ 🚶♂️🚶♀️
Season 4 Spring Sports for Track is Open in FamilyID - Registration for 7th-grade Track opened this morning and will close on April 25th to allow plenty of time for families to get their student(s) registered. For your convenience, click on the link https://www.familyid.com/organizations/north-lake-middle-school to register. Note: if you registered your student previously in FamilyID, please use the same account to register for a new sport so you don't have to fill out the entire registration again. All students must have a sports physical on file prior to the first practice. If your students(s) participated in a sport prior to this season, I will already have a copy of their physical on file. Your student(s) must also have ASB and you can purchase this online by visiting the NL website under Athletics and Clubs or come to the office and pay by cash, check, or card. The cost is $15.00 and if you have already purchased this, please disregard this reminder. Track is a non-cut sport. For additional questions, please reach out to coach Eacrett.
Practices will be held Monday through Thursday (on school days only) at the North Lake track from 2:50 to 4:30 pm beginning April 11th. Coach Eacrett will be holding a practice on Friday, April 15th. Parents will need to pick their student(s) up after practices as we will not have an activity bus to take athletes home. Team pictures will be Friday, April 15th at 3:00 pm.
