PBIS Re-Launch!

On Wednesday, January 29th we will be holding a re-launch of the JH Positive Behavior Incentive System (PBIS). You may remember students having the opportunity to earn THINK cards, during the 2018-19 school year, that they could exchange for items in our store or for entry to events. We have re-branded our PBIS to better align with the Elementary and Intermediate Buildings by embracing CARE.

We will be holding a building wide event to formally lay out the CARE expectations throughout the building and celebrate the things that our students will be able to achieve through this program.

High School Scheduling for 8th Graders

On Friday, January 31st, Mrs. Megyese will be at the Junior High to begin scheduling with 8th grade students. Mrs. Megyese met with all 8th graders to provide them with an overview of their high school courses prior to break. The next step in the process will be to meet with each student individually to choose both their required and elective courses for the 2020-2021 school year.

Be sure to talk to your child about what they have chosen. Freshmen orientation will occur on March 4th at 6pm, and you will have an opportunity to have your questions answered at that time.

Girls Who Code Club Coming!

We will be starting a new club that will occur during the school day, called Girls Who Code. This will target female students in grades 6-8 that are interested in exploring the world of Code. The mission of the organization is to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a programmer looks like and does.

Would you like to see more information about this group? Click the link here.

If you have a female student that is interested in this club, have them stop by the office and sign up. We will be reaching out to students that are interested and in good academic standing with more information soon.
