MHS also held a door decorating contest. Mr. Kirkendoll's 5th hour human anatomy class won, and will be rewarded with a pizza party!
At the end of the school day on Friday, September 15th, MHS prepared students for Homecoming with a pep assembly. It featured several games, and a performance by the cheerleaders. Señor Barker had the most money raised in his name for the penny wars, so he got a pie in the face from Mr. Spartan.

PRINCIPAL'S PEN
Moberly High School has had an electric atmosphere this month with an abundance of learning opportunities and school activities. Our Homecoming celebration was a success thanks to the hard work and planning of our Student Senate, cheerleaders and faculty. The Moberly High School staff also continues to make exciting plans and have high expectations for your student’s learning. We also recognize you have even more hopes and dreams for your student’s success in school and in their future.
To make sure those hopes and dreams are realized, I would like to ask for your support in encouraging your student to attend school every day possible this year. The evidence is clear: students with good attendance are more likely to be successful in school. High attendance rates are linked to high student achievement. This is true for every grade level – elementary, middle, and high school students.
Your student needs to be in school and engaged in learning to reach his or her full potential. Yet, we realize every family faces challenges. Please let your student’s counselor or me know if your family needs help dealing with a challenge that may affect your student’s attendance and we will do our best to your family ensure your student’s attendance stays on track. I have attached a link to an interesting article highlighting the importance of school attendance and it provides a more in depth view of this important educational issue.

Best wishes for a safe and successful school year.
