Principal's Message
Hello Viking Parents and Guardians,
Third Trimester is off to a great start! I am really excited to share the news that we will be using a system called “Yondr” to improve teaching and learning by making our school a phone-free learning environment.
We understand that cellphones have great utility, but cellphone use has increasingly become a source of distraction, anti-social behavior and conflict both at home and at school. As a result, we will pilot "Yondr" to determine the effectiveness and benefits at NWJH.
I want to thank the following teachers who have agreed to pilot "Yondr" with their classes: Travis Meade, Seth Schroeder, Autumn Williams, Jess Harris, Ed Sheridan, Will Kapp, and Dan Hill.
We are continuing are areas of focus:
1. Cell Phone Rules enforced and poster visible w/consequences for all classrooms
2. No passes issued during the 1st 10 minutes of class
3. The Library is no longer being used as "thoroughfare"
4. Teachers will use new library passes to send their students to work in the library/
students need passes while on errands
5. Breakfast will cut-off earlier at 8:46 a.m. unless a circumstance calls for admin exception
