Wilder Elementary School
Parent Newsletter - March 2020
Greetings Wilder Families!
With March bringing the “hope” of spring, we are also faced with how quickly these final 3 months of school tend to go. That is why our work at school becomes an even more urgent task as this new month begins. Your children’s teachers have high expectations for their students and we want to make every day at school count! Thanks for continuing to make regular school attendance a priority at your house. Thanks, also, for your attendance at Parent/Teacher conferences this week. We appreciate the continued communication when you have concerns and/or questions about your child’s progress. Your support for your child’s school experience has such a positive impact on his/her learning. Thank You!
March is a busy month at school. We promote good character for our students during each month's assemblies and house meetings. This month we were able to hear a guest speaker, Breanna Foy, at our assembly. She courageously spoke, as a person with a disability, about finding things we have in common with those who seem different than us. We appreciate her message of respect and inclusion. Thank you to Wilder's Special Ed team for arranging this special visit to Wilder. We also heard the Central High School Drumline. Wow!! That is impressive.
Our parents' night is being scheduled for Thursday, April 2. We will have a free supper at 6:00 PM. The theme for the evening is revolving around Wilder's House System. Hopefully your children have shared their excitement about being part of a "house" at Wilder. We will try to replicate many of the house activities we do at Wilder during this special event for parents.
Thanks, parents, for all you do to support your child’s learning at Wilder Elementary. We appreciate the time and attention you give your students to help them be successful.
Sincerely,
Leslie Wiegandt
Principal

Kindergarten Roundup/Registration Scheduled!!
In order to help better prepare for your arrival at Kindergarten Roundup/Registration, we would like you to take a few minutes to complete our online Pre-Registration form. This Google Form (http://bit.ly/Kindergarten2020) will allow us to capture information so we can begin your student's enrollment now and cut down on waiting time at school that day.
Bring your child to meet the teachers and experience some time in the Kindergarten classroom! Parents will meet in the gym to receive important information at the same time.
Please let your friends and neighbors know. To confirm your child's attendance, or to get more information, please call the Wilder office at 746-2320.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Notes from Nurse Reynolds
WHY IS SLEEP IMPORTANT?
- Promotes growth and development
- Inadequate sleep can make it difficult for your child to think clearly
- When we don't get enough sleep our bodies work overtime to produce extra hormones
- Children that don't get enough sleep have a higher risk of obesity, diabetes, injuries, poor
mental health, and problems with attention and behavior
- Lack of sleep leads to poor performance at school
