Resiliency Education
On 10/4, Early Release Day, students will be participating in classroom instruction required by Florida legislation this school year. The State Board of Education Required Instruction Rule (6A-1.094124) includes instruction relating to three topics in health education:
- Resiliency Education
- Substance Use and Abuse Education
- Child Trafficking Prevention Education
Students will engage in modules via myLearning courses. Each course contains grade and age-appropriate information, tools, and resources to support students in learning about and understanding the importance of resiliency, substance use and abuse prevention, and child trafficking prevention. Please see the letter below for more information related to these topics.
Student Gallup Poll
Parents, your students will be participating in the Gallup Student poll starting Oct 9th - Oct 13th and a make-up day on Oct 18th. This survey will only take about 10-15 minutes and will take place during our extended periods in their Math Class. This survey will be administered throughout the state and will provide a unique snapshot of student engagement patterns at the school, district and state levels. The web-based survey has a total of up to 29 items, including items covering self-efficacy, autonomy, and engagement with learning — both in and outside of school. The survey is anonymous, and students are not required to participate. If students do not agree to participate, they will be given an alternate assignment by the teacher. Also, if you have opted out of student surveys they will not be asked to participate. Students will access the survey through the Gallup icon on the mypascoconnect dashboard.
