Senior Honors Assembly
Seniors! Have you been awarded a scholarship(s)?
On May 17th, 2017 we will host the Senior Honors Assembly to honor seniors who have received any type of award, recognition, or scholarship. As we begin preparations for this event, it is crucial that we get information from you early!
In Advisory, you completed the 'Senior Scholarship & Awards Survey'. Your participation in Senior Awards Night is based on the information you provide to us. If you indicated that you have received a valid award, you will receive an invitation to the Senior Honors Assembly where we look forward to honoring you and your accomplishments!
If we don’t know you are receiving an award, we will not be able to recognize you!
Please consider the following points:
*In order to be recognized, you must show proof of award, scholarship, etc. (letter, email, certificate, etc.)
*Need-based scholarships will not be recognized
*Awards, etc. are to be turned in to Ms. Talamante in the Counseling Office
*If information provided cannot be verified, you will not be recognized
*Submit scholarship awards even if you do not plan on accepting them - we still want to recognize you for them!
*You can submit proof of an award up until May 12th, 2017
Remember, scholarships are any funds that colleges/universities/organizations offer you that you don’t have to pay back. Your financial aid package may refer to them as “awards” or “grants”. See us in the College and Career Center if you have questions about the awards you have. Need-based scholarships will not be recognized.
Renewable scholarship means you can have them renewed each year you are in college. For example, a $2,000 “renewable” scholarship is typically worth a total of $8,000 over the course of your 4-years in college.
