Mrs. Walters' News
A reminder to all- please remember that our handicap parking spots are for those with correct handicap designation. Also, the space between the fence and the first handicap spot is not for a car, it is to provide an area to unload a wheelchair or ramp if needed. Thank you for your cooperation.
Make note of the date corrections for the two parent/child dance opportunities coming up in March below!
The American Heart Association 's "Kids Heart Challenge" will kick off on Jan. 22! The students will learn what it means to have a heart healthy lifestyle. They will also have the opportunity to help fight heart disease by raising money for the American Heart Association. The actual "Kids Heart Challenge" will take place during your child's regular scheduled gym class time the week of Feb. 19-21. Look for information to be sent home next week.
The annual Flat River Outreach Food Fight will take place for two weeks- 1/21-2/1! Each class will be setting a goal and it is our hope to fill the shelves of this important community resources, especially after the holiday season which tends to deplete their resources. Please send in items with your child and we will publish counts. Winning classes (base don the number of items) will get a pizza party and we are partnering with high school student leaders to make this a success. If 10,000 items are donated throughout the district, FROM will receive a $10,000 outside donation!

January is National School Board Appreciation Month!
Many of you probably don’t know the members of our school board, as their work is done behind the scenes. However, I do want to recognize them here in our newsletter, as they volunteer MANY hours to our district and have done an amazing job of guiding our district to the success we have had over the years. Please join me in thanking each of our eight school board members from left to right: Kelly Kroll is the LHS student representative on our school board this year. Gary Blough, Pat Nugent, Jim Turner, Laurie Kuna, Dan Stephens, Brian Krajewski, and Tom Kaywood (not pictured).
