Information from our Buffett Family Facilitator

Hello Westbrook Families and Staff!!

I am excited to get our Early Childhood program in motion with our first event!

What is it?

This first event is called a "drop in and play"! A drop in and play is available for families who have children younger than Kindergarten age who would like to be connected with the Westbrook community. This event opens up a space for our families to play with tools and toys designed for young children. There will be activities available for family members to engage in play with their young children and grow their brains! We are also available to answer any questions you may have about our amazing community.

When and Where?

September 6, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, as well as 3:30-5:30 PM. I will be located in the Front Vestibule by the Boys and Girls Club Innovation center.

Upcoming Events

Throughout the year, I will be hosting other events where families will get more opportunities to do fun activities with their children.

In September we will have:

  • Socialization- September 16, 2022
  • Engagement Night (Fitness Edition)- September 22, 2022

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

AHERA Notice

Annual AHERA Notice
The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA) requires each public school district to annually notify parents, staff, and employee groups of its asbestos management plans. A management plan is in place for Westbrook Elementary and is available for review either at the school building or at the Westside Service Center, 9437 J St. Omaha, NE.

This school building was originally inspected in the1980’s and re-inspected by a certified inspector every three years thereafter. The three-year re-inspection and a ceiling tile inspection was conducted in 2019, and periodic surveillance will be conducted as required. No abatement activities are currently in progress or scheduled for the 2022-2023 school year at this building.

The Designated Person responsible for managing the District’s AHERA compliance and the contact person for questions or to review a management plan is the Director of Facilities, Russ Olsen (402) 390-8331.
