RMHS High Five Club
Celebrating Excellence in the Class of 2019
Josh Galvin has distinguished himself as a fine student, football player, and wrestler at RMHS, as well as a responsible contributor to the school and local Reading community. During first quarter, all of Josh’s grades were in the A-range across a rigorous selection of classes that included two AP classes and two honors classes. Currently, his favorite class is Anatomy and Physiology with Ms. Dalby, a course that is well-suited to his goal of one-day becoming a physician’s assistant. Outside of school, Josh has been involved in scouting since first grade. His commitment to scouting will reach its culmination in the coming weeks as he concludes his final project in pursuit of the rank of Eagle Scout. It’s no surprise that his Eagle Scout project relates to one of the passions he has developed at RMHS—his passion for the sport of wrestling. Josh is designing and building an awards podium that will be used by the wrestling program. The podium will come in especially handy for the regional and state-wide wrestling matches that are frequently hosted at RMHS, and thus play a role in promoting the sport and program that Josh has come to cherish. Josh is currently that captain of the wrestling team, and his coach Mr. Murphy has this to say about him: “Josh has grown into a mature leader on the wrestling team. He is able to make decisions and guide younger members of the team with success. He is selfless, and he is one of those student athletes that as a coach I am very proud to have represent our team.”
