Message From The Principal

Much of our success is anchored in our positive school culture. We believe that taking brief time-outs from the steady pace of rigorous academic pursuits to make memories, share laughs, and celebrate the students is important. Today, we did exactly that, with the return of Fall Fling.

This fall festival provides our students with the opportunity to head outside and enjoy the autumn weather. Student organizations man booths throughout the event, offering everything from specialty food items to caricature portrait sessions. To add to the ambiance, we play popular music and set up inflatable bounce houses and obstacle courses. While the event only lasts during 3rd block, it's a nice reprieve from the norm that shows our students that we care. Communicating how much we care about them is vital to establishing the relationships that lead to the positive outcomes we experience. Just as with spirit week, it is amazing to witness how our students are able to shift from blowing off steam by acting like kids to getting serious and settling back down to work.

All in all, it was a great way to cap off a week.

Together We Swarm!

Fort Mill Aquatic Center

Last week, the Fort Mill School District opened the Fort Mill Aquatic Center in style. The 29,000 square foot facility is home to a modern and massive 621,000 gallon pool. The site will be run in partnership with the YMCA, and will serve as the training and competition space for our swim team. It is an amazing facility with state of the art equipment that will benefit the students of our school district and community as well. We are very grateful for the community support which made this dream for our students a reality.

While the official opening was held on Thursday, October 17th, our swim team was invited to break in the pool by jumping in collectively, along with the swim teams from the two other high schools, on the Tuesday before. Even the principals of the three schools got in on the action and made a bit of a splash of our own.
