September was a busy month getting everyone settled and back into the routine of school. The students and staff have had to be adaptable with the gym being out of commission. There is some work being done to reinforce the ceiling so solar panels can be installed. The 10 day project has turned into a month plus. Thank you to Ronald Harvey school for letting our volleyball teams practice there, and to Muriel Martin for hosting a league game for us. Mother Nature has cooperated as well with our phys-ed classes having to be outside.

Students participated in various activities the week of September 30 to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Outside of the school there is a pathway lined with orange rocks written on by students, and on the library windows student handprints with messages were arranged to make three giant, orange hands.

The cross country team had an excellent showing at districts. The senior girls and boys placed first overall, the intermediate boys placed first overall, and the junior girls and boys placed second overall. Out of 6 races, 4 were won by WD Cuts runners and there are a large number of runners going to zones.

Reminder there is no school October 7 or 10, picture retakes are on October 13, and parent teacher interviews will be held October 19 and 27. More information will come on how to book appointments for these.
