Vaccination Information
On Tuesday, November 2, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted to approve the recommendation that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with Pfizer pediatric vaccine. For more details on this decision, please read their press release. COVID-19 vaccines have undergone – and will continue to undergo – the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history. Vaccinating children will help protect them from getting COVID-19 and therefore reducing their risk of severe disease, hospitalizations, or developing long-term COVID-19 complications. Getting your children vaccinated can help protect them against COVID-19, as well as reduce disruptions to in-person learning and activities by helping curb community transmission.
Appointments are open to anyone looking for first or second dose of Pfizer (5+) or Moderna (18+) COVID-19 vaccine.
Please note, APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED at this time.
We have plenty of vaccines available!
You can make an appointment through Prepmod using the links below.
When signing up a pediatric patient, please choose Pfizer and be sure to include an accurate date of birth.
Pediatric appointments are now available! Anyone who is eligible for their 1st, 2nd, or booster can make an appointment as well.
*We will start offering Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) doses at our clinics on Tuesday, November 16!*
- Sunday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Monday, November 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Please arrive to your appointment a few minutes early to ensure all paperwork is in order.

After School Program
The After School Program is going well! Thanks for using the sign up process. We do have slots available most afternoons. If your child wants to attend the program, check for openings, we would love to fill each night with the maximum number of students which is 15. If you do reserve a spot, moving forward, we will charge you the daily fee even if your child does not come, unless you call us to remove your child from the list. By signing up, you are reserving a spot. Thanks for understanding. Be sure to create a login and register for after school care on the following webpage: https://lamotteschool.revtrak.net/rw-after-school-program/.

Notes from the November 9, 2021 Meeting
Here are the things we visited about at our meeting on Tuesday.
New Building - the next steps will be to send out RFQ for a contractor. We will convene a Building Committee to assist in the design stages. Watch for more information on this.
Restarting the foundation - we had an established foundation but unfortunately our non-profit status has expired. If we want to reestablish the foundation, we will need to submit new paperwork. I will visit with the board about getting this up and running again.
Counselor, Spanish teacher - we are actively trying to fill these two positions. Fortunately, Mrs. Sailer is continuing to sub as our counselor.
Spirit Week, Elliots Cookie Sales, Food Drive - The Student Leadership Committee has Spirit Week planned for next week. Ask your kids what each day’s events are. The middle school students are selling Elliot’s items to raise money for their spring field trips. If you want some cookie dough, scone mix, pasta, etc, find a middle schooler to sell some to you! The middle school students will be organizing a food drive in December. It’s a great competition that encourages community service.
Santa’s workshop, Holiday Program - The Santa’s Workshop is back! On December 16, our LaMotte eleves will open the shop so all our students may shop for their immediate family members. It’s a really fun day! Contact Lisa Danzl-Scott at lisa@bozemanbrewing.com to become involved! We will send more information as the day approaches. And, we will have a Holiday Program. The students will sing and the bands will play! December 16 @ 6:30 at the Mt. Ellis Academy Chapel. Because of COVID, it won’t look exactly like the other performances we have had, but it will be a chance for us to celebrate the season and see our students perform. Though we will not have the silent dessert auction, we will have a live auction, beginning with Lunch with the Principal. Watch for other details on our auction items. The proceeds will go toward the new addition - specifics to be determined.
How is everything going?
Parents like the Signup Genius as a way to volunteer.
We received positive feedback on our visitors from a few weeks ago, Andy and Stella Woods.
If you have ideas of community contributors that might like to speak to our students, please let me know. Today Mr Cole's twin brother, Deputy David Coles, was our guest speaker. The students had great questions about the law enforcement profession.
Bears Boys Basketball 2021 Season

PIR DAY - No School on November 24th - 26th
Pack an extra mask
We have seen this week that it is a good idea to pack an extra mask for your student in a zip lock bag in their backpack. Then they can switch out during the day for a fresh mask as some are wet 1/2 through the day.
Emergency Lunch
Student Reminders
Please have students dress in layers and bring a jacket for the unpredictable fall weather.
Students are encouraged to have sunscreen in lockers to apply for outdoor PE and recess. Students should have at least one emergency lunch item in their locker.
