Requirements: Video/Essay Contest – This year each student is required to submit a video/essay to participate in the program. Winning submissions will be recognized at Minority Student Day and will win prizes. The essay topic will be shared at a later date.- Essays must be original and individual content. Information cannot be copied or plagiarized from public websites or fellow students.
- Video can be submitted by an individual or group of 3-5 students. Information cannot be copied or plagiarized from public websites or fellow students.
- Essays/videos must contain information that answers the full topic
- Essays must contain correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Essays must be 2 pages typed and double spaced on 8 ½ by 11 white paper.
- Essays/videos must include a title page with the student’s name, the counselor’s name and email address, and school name.
- Essays/videos must be reviewed by the school counselors. (Not applicable for college students)
- Essays/videos must be creative

AOIT Trip to DC (10th, 11th, & 12th Graders Only)

- The cost of this trip is still being developed, but a high estimate from our advisory board is $550.
- We are looking to finalize our list! In hopes to fill our bus and keep cost down, we are opening this trip up to AoIT 10th, 11th and 12th graders! This will be filled on a first come - first pay - first serve basis.

View Cherry Blossoms around the tidal basin and walk around the Mall (Smithsonian) – you may be able to get tickets through our Congressman’s office to go up the Washington Monument for all of the students

Potential second field trip to The Aerospace Corporation at the Crystal City Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones) modeling and simulation lab
Rotate groups of 10 for a 20 minute demo each. While not watching the demo, students can eat at local fast casual restaurants in the area or hang out in the courtyard area in front of the lab (there are a lot of Adirondack chairs around tables and a fountain).
