Introduction
The Slender Glass Lizard is an endangered species to Iowa. The Slender Glass Lizard if one of the many species that needs to be conserved. The Slender Glass Lizard is the greatest need for conservation because it eats a wide variety of insect and small mice and these types of animals repopulate quickly and can harm plant life.
Supporting Details
The Slender Glass Lizard is one of the most urgent animals to be conserved. Because the population size in Iowa is so low its hard to research/study them. The Slender Glass Lizard is heavily populated in Michigan but we hardly have any in Iowa.
The Slender Glass Lizard is considered rare in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and considered fairly well populated in Michigan.
Why they're endangered: Loss of Habitat, Prairie lands to Cultivated Grounds, Invasion of exotic species, High insecticide use, and diminished food supply
I think that the Slender Glass Lizard is the best to conserve because they eat a lot of insects and small rodents. They help control the growing population of insect that eat and kill plant life that can lower plant growth in Iowa
Conclusion
I think that the Slender Glass Lizard is important to Biodiversity because of it insect and rodent control on the Planet and based on the information I found I think that we as people are responsible for the main endangerment of the Slender Glass Lizard and we need to stop it
