Salem Lutheran School News
September 2020
We hope you’ve had a smooth start to 2020-2021. We are blessed that God has given us the opportunity to come together and learn as a school family. With continued prayer, we ask God to keep us safe and health as we go through the school year.
We have a new face in the office this year. Mrs. Lahmann is our new school secretary. Stop by the school office with any questions, concerns, or just to say hello.
Parking Lot Safety – For the safety of all students, Salem’s cement parking lot should not be driven on before, during, or immediately after school. A good rule of thumb is, if the cones are up, stay in the Trinity parking lot. In the past, this has mainly been an issue at early drop off time. Please pick up and drop off your children from the Trinity lot or from the Ryan Street entrance.
Sports – Soccer and Cross Country are in full swing. We are all eager to get back outside and safely interact with others. Both teams had their first meets this week. Check out the calendar for game dates and practice times.
GO CARDINALS!!
First Semester Missions – Costa Maya Ministries – For the first semester, our missions offering will be helping Costa Maya Ministries in Mexico. Costa Maya Ministries, previously known as Iglesia Luterana Cruz de Cristo (Cross of Crist Lutheran Church), has been spreading God’s Word for 13 years in an area devastated by Hurricane Dean. In the beginning, believers would gather on the beach, at homes, or anywhere they could come together and worship. Through continued donations and offerings of love, Costa Maya Ministries is able to build churches to share God’s word with the people of Mahahual, Mexico. Items we collect – Box Tops 4 Education, Coca-Cola Caps and Cardboard Codes, VG’s receipts (Family Fare or any Spartan Nash store), Tyson Project A+ labels, and School Spirit coupons from Soft & Good Bread. These items really help in funding our computer goals, athletics, and more.
