Irvington Weekly Newsletter
February 10, 2023
As we enter into "field trip season," be on the look out for permission slips and requests for volunteers. Take a look below at the awe on our kindergarteners' face! What a great way to learn outside of the classroom!
With appreciation for your support,

Popcorn Party and School Dance!
We've got some READERS in our community! Our Eagles read 55,066 minutes, which means they earned an extra recess, a popcorn party, and a school dance. The popcorn party is scheduled for February 16, and the school dance is scheduled for March 2. Thank you for helping your children log your minutes!
URGENT: Auction Donations and Sponsors Needed!
The Irvington School Auction is right around the corner, but we need more auction items and sponsors to make our event a success! This event covered more than 90% of last year's expenditures, providing vital free services for our students and staff.
How you can help:
Donate items for the auction – ALL NEEDED BY
These auction items always bring in the most $$$:
Vacation homes and hotel gift certificates
Massage gift certificates
Restaurant gift certificates
Nice bottles of wine or spirits
Sporting event, concert, play, and other event tickets
Services (Are you an interior designer? Family photographer? Can you help someone with their taxes? Or teach them how to rock climb? Donate your expertise + time!)
Host a party
Auction parties are a fun way to raise money and hang with other awesome Irvington families. Come up with a party idea and we’ll sell tickets to your party! Then you host the party within the next year. It’s that simple!
Party ideas could include:
A progressive dinner
A murder mystery or theme night
Knitting lessons
Mini golf or bowling party
Kid movie night
Block party
Family picnic
Sponsor
Want to just write a check, or know a business that would love to support our community? That’s awesome. Auction sponsors get plenty of attention and celebration in return. Check out our sponsorship packages here.
Contact Jason Leavitt to sponsor, Courtney Simms to donate items, and Hillary Wendroff to host a party.

Here is a link for book ordering: Visiting Author Zoey Abbott Book Buying Link
If you purchase using this link, you will need to be sure to fill-in your shipping address even though the books are being hand delivered to your school. This step is necessary for the order to process. Please select your school’s name under "Calculate Shipping Cost." This allows us to know what book orders are for your school.
All books ordered through this link will be signed and doodled by Zoey Abbott. If you would like your signed book personalized to a certain name, please write clearly in the comment box to whom they would like the book dedicated. For example, “Please sign this book to Ella”. Please write the child’s teacher in the comment box so that the books can be distributed easily. This will allow us enough time to get the books ordered, organized, and signed in time for your school presentation.
Thank you and happy reading! Questions? Email Ms Audel at saudel@pps.net.
