#sparkinfo. Weekly Update
Week #2- August 27-31, 2018
Thank you for a memorable first week of school!
As we look forward to week two, let's remember to build relationships and positively reinforce those good things we see going on.
Excel cents is an easy way to reinforce excellent contribution. It is easy to give excel cents to a student who helps a classmate, who goes above and beyond in the hallway, or who contributes in class in an excellent way. Remember, excel cents can be given during instruction as well.
Also, don't forget to send out good news in an intentional way. Last year, 140 good news emails went out. We have already sent out 78 this year! Please remember how much this means to parents. Can we catch every one of our students being good! If parents don't have an email, Mrs. Masters has some new Pickens Middle Stationary which can be used to send home a Good News Card. Thank you for putting those together LeAnn!
"I Will Survive" 8th Grade!
The Back to School Bash was a blast!

Instructional Focus
After week one, you should have already had visits from the leadership team at least twice. Some of you have had as many as five visits! We are currently using an instructional trends observation form to gauge where we are. We will use the data to center professional learning around innovative practice we see and areas where we can grow. Thank you for being intentional about student-centered instruction.
