ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 26- MARCH 30, 2018
FORMER EARLY RELEASE DAY/HOLIDAY: Thursday, March 29th is now a REGULAR SCHOOL DAY. It had been slated to be an early release day. Friday, March 30th is a HOLIDAY and school is closed. We hope you enjoy your time away from school.
PICTURES FOR YEARBOOK: Keep posting your pictures in the Google Yearbook folders titled PUE Pics 2017-18. If you have any question about access to the folder please let Kevin know. Other questions specific to the Yearbook should go to Cameron Johnson.
GLOBAL BOOKS: Carmen Roberts shared that a lot of our global books that grade levels requested are IN!! She stated that she would love for teachers to come by and peep at what we got before I put them all out on the shelves. They are processed and ready to be checked out.
AUTHOR VISIT: Every year the Media Center hosts an 'Author Visit." This year's author is Carol Weatherford. Quail Ridge Books works with Ms. Roberts/Mr. Fry to facilitate this opportunity. Please see the schedule below for the scheduled Author Visit on next Wednesday, March 28th:
Specials:
The assembly will take the place of specials for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
Specialists will attend the assemblies in the GYM.
Teachers are not required to stay the entire time but should
Specialists will teach specials beginning at 2:00 BUT GRADES TAUGHT WILL BE DIFFERENT.
- 2:05-2:45 Kindergarten (NOT 3RD)
- 2:50-3:30 1st Grade (including Whitley) (NOT 2ND)
Assemblies/Book Signings:
- 9:30-10:15 4th Grade assembly in the GYM
- 10:15-10:30 Book signing with 3rd and 4th graders only in the MEDIA CENTER (for children that have bought books previously)
- 10:30-11:15 3rd Grade assembly in the GYM
- 11:15-12:00 5th Grade assembly in the GYM
- 12:00-12:15 Book signing with 5th graders only in the MEDIA CENTER (for children that have bought books previously)
- 12:15-12:30 Break for Author
- 12:30-1:15 Lunch with the Author (Specialists, Admin.)
- 1:15-2:00 2nd Grade assembly in the GYM (there is no book signing for 2nd grade- no books bought)
END OF YEAR PDP and SUMMARY CONFERENCE INFORMATION - The following Deadlines are necessary due to County Deadlines, so please do what is needed now to plan ahead:
- End of Year PDPs are due for ALL TEACHERS (Track IV plan accordingly) on April 2nd, 2018
- The Summative Artifact Information for Standards I-V Data Collection Sheet (The artifacts sheet you submit before summary conferences) is due on April 2, 2018 for Beginning Teachers and on April 30, 2018 for Continuing Teachers. (Track IV plan accordingly.)
REMINDER: MAKE UP DAYS Tracks 1/2/3:
- Friday January 5th- Saturday, April 7th
- Wednesday January 17- Saturday, April 14th
YEARBOOKS CONTINUE TO BE ON SALE: Yearbooks are on sale now. Yearbook ordering options can be found at Pleasant Union Yearbook. You will need to enter Pleasant Union's Job: #4262718
APRIL BOARD ADVISORY COMMITTEE (BAC)-MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Pleasant Union will be hosting the April 16th BAC. The business portion of the meeting starts at 6:00. Special guest is temporary Superintendent, Del Burns.

SPRING FLING UPDATES
Thanks to all that have signed up for volunteering and some special events (dunking booth). PTA has shared with us their appreciation for this. They also shared that they are adding an incentive for the Sumo Wrestling Suits.
Please go to the SPRING FLING LINK to sign up. Can't you picture a Lamanna vs. Schoenebeck Sumo Wrestling match up or seeing Ms. McNeeley being dunked?
Bricks 4Kidz donated an in-house field trip and we decided to use it for the winner here. No new participants since we went out.

DUTIES FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 26- MARCH 30, 2018 Track 4 OUT
AM Hallway: Shipley (Help greet parents/students, check with Ms. Person to see what is needed at the visitor sign-in tables/help with Breakfast traffic)
AM Carpool: Narvaez (Help Safety Patrol, call for more help if needed, monitor carpool lane)
AM Breakfast: Johnson (Work with students regarding lunch numbers, encourage students to eat and get directly to class.)
AM Bus: BLOCKER (See office if you are unable to help as this is an extra duty. Write down arrival times of buses. Work with Fricke to disembark students, trouble-shoot issues.)
Lunch Duty: Fitzgerald, Johnson, *** SPECIALISTS***, Newman, McEwen, Brown, Narvaez
Due to one less TA over this track out the following changes will take place for the next few weeks:
- Fitzgerald 11:00-11:50
- Johnson 11:05-12:00
- BROWN 11:30-12:20 (change)
- Newman 11:35-12:25
- McEwen 12:10-1:00
- SPECIALIST ROTATION 12:30-1:10 (change) *** See table below
- Narvaez 12:25-1:15
Specialists lunch rotation schedule (subject to change)
(Specialists should make sure substitutes know to cover this duty if they are tracked out below)
(Start the track in period with consistent behavior expectations. STUDENTS CAN BRING A BOOK TO READ, BUT NOT OTHER OBJECTS (RUBIC'S CUBE, ETC...)
Work with one another to use the "warning" behavior system, train students to pick up trash/sweep, and inform teachers of issues. Do not allow students to flip bottles/get up without permission. Do not hesitate to move a student to a separate seat or to inform the office of repeated issues. Update the seating charts in the notebook as needed. The office will contact you (support staff) if necessary for coverage. THANK YOU FOR DOING LUNCH DUTY.
PM Hallway: Andrews (Check all students for tags in the bus line. If a student does not have a tag, inform Fricke and Ms. Britt ASAP. )
PM Carpool: McEwen, Brown (outside), Perry, Cooper, Blocker/Shipley (inside), Stern (Specialists fill in- contact office is there is a change and to let us know who is covering) (Call carpool numbers. If a parent doesn't have a carpool tag, PLEASE INFORM THE PARENT that they should get one from the office.
PM Bus: McNeeley (Call one bus at a time. Write down arrival times. CHECK FOR BUS TAGS ON EACH CHILD'S BOOK BAG. Work with Britt and Barber to trouble-shoot, solve issues. IF YOU HAVE CONFERENCES ETC... LET THE OFFICE KNOW ON MONDAY MORNING.)
