The Revolt & Why
Bolshevik leader, Vladimir Lenin lead a revolt, against the ineffective provisional government.
Women workers, left their jobs and went to the streets to protest. Over 80,000 women marched the streets.
There was a tax poll which was inconstantly levied & and unfairly enforced. The Bolsheviks promised the land.
Planned?
The revolution was a spontaneous up rise of the Russian working class. No organization planned the revolution, but it had clear goals to demand, bread, and a call for the overthrow of a Monarchy.
Government Being Overthrown
Forces led by Vladimir Lenin overthrew the provisional government of Alexander Kerensky. The Russian Monarchy was overthrown in 1917. Insight soldiers and works rose up against the government.
Response of the Government
Czars gave up all power, they let the people take over. The government didn't even fight back. The most harm they may have done was shot a few protesters. But other than that the didn't put up much of a fight
What's Next
An alliance of anti Bolshevik white army forces tried to overthrow their government but the Bolshevik Red Army defected them, in the Russian civil war.
