Excellent Teaching and Learning at Every Moment of Every day for Everyone
Principal's message
Greetings Team!
It's been an exciting week here at Beck! Our students seem to really be on board with their Houses. As we mentioned earlier, it is so important that we now think about how we can incorporate the Houses seamlessly into what we do, and that we begin awarding points.
Also, please remain hyper-focused on planning differentiated learning opportunities for your students. We have made extraordinary progress on this goal, and we must continue to maintain momentum so that all students are being successful. Don't forget that you can always refer to our success criteria to help you reflect on how you can plan for these experiences consistently. Her are a few reminders:
1. Learning Stations - You can design centers with different levels of complexity (even levels within a particular station).
2. Tiered Tasks/Assignments - This is a great way to address student's readiness levels and help develop key skills/concepts that they need to acquire.
3. Depth and Complexity - This is a great way to allow choice in how students think about a particular concept/skill
4. Adjust Questions - Simply propose questions according to the students' readiness level making sure to challenge student thinking.
5. Choice Activities - Give student's options based on their interest, within a specific skill or concept that needs to be mastered.
Thanks for being amazing!
Always True Blue,
S. Conklin
