CLear bag policy
Beginning on Friday, August 26th, CSHS will implement a clear bag policy at all sporting events. This policy will be similar to policies in place at college and professional stadiums and coliseums. There will be no entrance into sporting events without a clear bag. The following types of bags are permitted inside of CSHS sporting events:
Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12”x6”x12”, one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags, small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5”x6.5”

Fafsa Night - August 31
All seniors and families are invited to Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, August 31st from 6-7 pm in the Cedar Library! Come out and learn about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and ways to pay for college! Mother Daughter Brunch
Sheats Social Services is hosting a Mother Daughter Brunch at the East Athens Educational Dance Center on Saturday, September 3, 2022. This brunch is for girls in 6th-12 grade and their mother (mother figure). The purpose is to build healthier relationships, learn better ways to communicate effectively, and encourage family engagement. This will be a FREE fun and interactive event. Chicken Wing Theatre Meeting 8/31

Students and parents can pre-order their 2022-23 yearbooks now at bit.ly/cedaryearbook23 The current pre-order cost is $70. Yearbook prices will rise to $75 beginning August 27 and $80 on October 29. Pre-order now to save money. Students can also pay with cash or check made out to Cedar Shoals High School by seeing Mr. Ginsberg in room C202.

State School Superintendent Richard Woods seeks students in grades 10-12 to serve on his 22-23 Student Advisory Council. These students will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies in the classroom and other education-related issues. They will serve as the Superintendent's ambassadors to their respective schools. Click here for the 2022-2023 Student Advisory Council application. Applications must be submitted by September 9, 2022, at 5 p.m. Late applications will not be accepted.

Do you want to get out of school for part of the day to go to work AND earn a paycheck AND course credit? APPLY NOW for Work-Based Learning! If you don't have a job we can help find one for you, just indicate the type of job you are interested in on the form. If you already have a job, we can use that as your WBL placement. We are also looking for students to work as interns within the school building so if you are interested and meet the requirements below, please apply ASAP.
Requirements:
At least 16 years old in your junior or senior year
Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) coursework
Be in good academic standing (on track to graduate)
2.5 GPA or above
Good attendance, punctuality and behavior
Recommendations from teachers and a school counselor
Access to the internet (coursework is done in Google Classroom)
Reliable transportation
Internship or job that is approved by a WBL Coordinator

- If your student has a chronic health condition, such as asthma, seizure disorder, severe food allergy, or diabetes, please make sure your student has visited their primary care provider and provide the School Nurse with a current healthcare plan for your student's school health file. - ALL students actively enrolled in CCSD must be up-to-date with all GA immunization requirements. This includes all students participating in-person AND remotely/virtually.Please follow up with your student's primary care provider to determine if your student is in need of any immunization. This should be done as soon as possible to ensure your student is up-to-date!
