Hello, Lighthouse Families,
It’s staff appreciation week at Spring Lake Park Schools. We have a tremendous staff who work hard with care and compassion each day to truly know each student and create the conditions for each student to learn. We’re taking time this week to recognize our staff and share our appreciation for everything they do. If you’d like to join us, consider sending a note. Words of appreciation go a long way.
Over the last few weeks, we have seen a little increase in COVID-19 illness and related absences. We are monitoring and continue to publish the numbers each week on the COVID-19 hub. We ask that families please continue to complete a health screening each day and keep your student home if any symptoms are present.
Reminders:
- ● Lighthouse Talent Show: The Lighthouse Talent show is next Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. We look forward to inviting families back into the building. Please check in at the Lighthouse office. We will walk down to the Fine Arts Center at the high school just before 1 p.m.
- Extended Learning Day, Friday, May 13: These days are designed for students to do work related to their inquiry project which cannot easily be done in the classroom such as library research, talking with an expert, conducting experiments, or a field trip. Students that are taking courses at Spring Lake High School should sign in and sign out at the Lighthouse office. Students will not be permitted to leave early without a parent signing the student out, emailing permission (ddough@distrtict16.org), or calling the Lighthouse School at 763-600-5200.
Have a great week!
With Gratitude,
Lisa Cisewski

Panthinators create their first driving, shooting robot
After months of brainstorming, designing and building, two dozen members of the Panthinators robotics club at Spring Lake Park High School recently sent their first robot through competition at the University of Minnesota in April.
The team made its first return to the high school since the pandemic struck and were eager to compete. From building to programing to promotion, members of the club contributed to the process based on their specific interests, all of which led to unveiling their first driving and shooting robot at the state competition.
