What is Shintoism
Shintoism is a religion practiced to apprecitate gods and nature. In Shintoism everybody belives that everything has a god. It also really focuses on your ancestor.
How People Found Gods and Godesses
People found gods and godesses by fallowing the religion called Shinto. Shintoism or Shinto means "in the way of the gods". When you practice Shintoism you worship life, even if it is a tree, rock, stream, animal, ect. But it mainly focused on human figures.
History Of Shintoism
Shintoism was founded in the 6th century. Shintoism is actually a quite mild religion, its a lot like Buddhism. Shintoism exceeds on gods and the way of good well being and evil. Back then Buddhism and Shintoism didn't get along. There fallowres Usually fought, but later learned to like one another.
Some Well Known Gods and Goddesses Are.
Amerterasu
She is the goddess of the sun. Many consider her to be the primary god.
Fujin
Fujin is the god of wind. He is also one of the oldest Shinto gods. He has been said to have created the world.
Hachiman
He is the god of war. He is known to protect the Japanese people and its land. He also became the gaurdian of the Minomoto clan
Shintoism Today
Today many people seek worship in the home where they pray at there shrine. Now at public shrines all through out Japan, you can find tailman and necklaces. These items are there for there fallowers to take. Taking one would mean you are securing good health, safety and success.
