The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
This is it! The time of year that I most look forward to and treasure. Winter weather strolls outside. Short days and long nights. Celebrations with family and friends. Twinkling lights and joyful tunes. Games played in front of the fireplace. Entire days spent in the kitchen lovingly preparing food to be shared. And the time to be free from a schedule. A time to simply enjoy.
I hope for each of you special time over our winter break. Time to enjoy all of the moments with your wonderful children, no matter how big or how small. And when the busyness of schedules and school returns in January, you will be left with precious memories to treasure and cherish.
We are collecting items for Liney, a 9 year old girl living in an orphanage in Africa. If you can provide an item for our care package, it would be greatly appreciated!
The items that we would like to send to her include a backpack, an outfit (youth S), underwear, socks, flip flops (youth 3), pencil bags, pencils, pens, pencil sharpener, erasers, scissors, ruler, comb, nail clippers, coloring book, sketch pad, colored pencils, and markers.
Our final Kona Ice day for the semester is Thursday, December 17th.
Assessments and Projects
The second quarter district benchmark test will be given next Thursday, December 17th. This test will cover energy as well. There is no additional information to study for the benchmark.
We started an Energy Project today! Students will work in groups to design and build a system that shows the relationship between potential energy and kinetic energy. Ask your child about their ideas!
