Magnetic Attraction
Third grade reinforced their learning in the classroom about magnets by completing magnet stations in the library. They used the library iPads to access the online database PebbleGo, read an ebook about magnets, watch a MIT magnet video and self checked a sorting activity by scanning QR codes. In addition, they also did two different hands on experiments involving magnets.

Literary Pumpkin Patch
It was time again for our annual Children's Book Literary Pumpkin Contest. We had so many wonderful entries. The judges had a difficult time choosing their favorite. The Grand Prize winner was Strega Nona from Mrs. Cochran's class and the Honorable Mention winner was The Lorax from Mrs. Villarreal's class. The students were encouraged to come to the library and vote for their favorite and the People's Choice award went to Pete the Cat from Mrs. Zigmond's class.
Book Fair
The profits from our Book Fair go towards presenters, reading incentives and programs.
Our next Book Fair will be in the Spring and we are trying out a new company, so stayed tuned!
