Retakes Information
Lifetouch will be photographing retakes for all 3 schools with 1 camera.
Evergreen Elementary will be from 8:30-9:30
Stikine Middle School from 11-12
Wrangell High School from 12:15-1:15
Students that were absent on picture day will just need to come down to the camera and bring their order envelope if they have one.
Students that want a retake will need to bring with them their picture from before. This will allow the photographer to see the original image and ask what they would like to do different this time. The photographer will also use the barcode on the original portrait envelope to scan and reprint the new package with the same backgrounds and sizes.
If a students wants a retake and does not have their original envelope, The photographer can still look them up and get their package re-ordered. Parents do not need to pay anything for retakes.
Booster Raffle!!
Tickets are $5 each. There will be 2 winners drawn; 1 winner will receive a $500 gift card to Bob's IGA - 1 winner will receive a $500 gift card to City Market.
The drawing will be held at the WHS Office on Tuesday, November 20. Right before Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to Jacob Allen and Robyn Booker for being selected to participate in the Choir at Region V Honor Festival in Petersburg in October! Laura Helgeson was also selected as an alternate flute player!

Swim Results from Juneau:
The WHS Swim Team competed in the Juneau Invitational Meet this past weekend with six other southeast teams.
Combined results from the two meets: Xoe Affholter: 25th in the 50yd Freestyle, 26th in the 50yd Freestyle, 17th in the 100yd Freestyle; Jimmy Baggen: 8th in the 50yd Freestyle, 5th in the 200yd Freestyle, 9th in the 100yd Freestyle, 3rd in the 100yd Breaststroke; Laura Helgeson: 21st in the 50yd Freestyle, 21st in the 50yd Freestyle; Wade Jack: 5th in the 50yd Freestyle, 5th in the 100yd Breaststroke, 6th in the 100yd Freestyle, 6th in the 200yd Freestyle; Aaliyah Messmer: 20th in the 50yd Freestyle, 17th in the 100yd Backstroke, 19th in the 50yd Freestyle, 23rd in the 100yd Backstroke; Sophie O’Brien: 14th in the 50yd Freestyle, 17th in the 50yd Freestyle, 17th in the 100yd Freestyle, 13th in the 100yd Breaststroke; Renee Roberts: 1st in the 50yd Freestyle, 1st in the 100yd Freestyle,9th in the 100yd Breaststroke, 6th in the 200yd Freestyle.
Jimmy Baggen is the first Wrangell swimmer to complete all eight individual events offered in high school swimming.

Congrats to Liana who ran her first state race this weekend at Bartlett High School. Liana placed 26th (3rd in Region V) with a time of 22:09. Great job, Liana!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
Just a reminder: the WHS counselor, Aimee Romeijn, has her website updated with many useful resources for parents and students. Please be sure to check it out: Counselor's Corner
SAT
Students who wish to take the SAT on Saturday, November 3 will need to create a collegeboard.org account to register and pay online through their account. If a student has any questions about how to do this, please stop on by Ms. Romeijn's office. The registration deadline is October 5.
Fee waivers are available for the SAT for students who qualify based on socio-economic status (i.e. free and reduced lunch, public assistance). See Ms. Romeijn for more information about a fee waiver.
Students are encouraged to study for the ACT and/or SAT and test prep sites can be found here under the Counselor's Corner on the WHS website.

Castle Mountain Entertainment Presents
Special School Board Meeting
Wrangell Public School Board will hold a Special School Board Meeting on Monday, October 1, 2018 beginning at 6:30 PM in Evergreen Elementary School Gym. The purpose of this meeting is to take action on a resolution for the Association of Alaska School Boards regarding the paraprofessional shortage.
A Work Session will follow the meeting at 6:45 PM to discuss the Superintendent Evaluation Tool. The public is welcome to attend.

Accounting Clerk: The Accounting Clerk assists the business manager in maintaining financial records, accounts payable and preparing payroll.
This is a 10-month position, working 6 hours per day with health care benefits.
A college degree in Business or Accounting and two years accounting experience is preferred.
