O sinner, be not discouraged, but have recourse to Mary in all you necessities. Call her to your assistance, for such is the divine Will that she should help in every kind of necessity.

Dear St. Jerome Families,
Yesterday, the St. Jerome School Early Childhood Program has welcomed 12 eggs from the Quiver Farms Chick Hatching Program. We are excited to bring this project to you live via the St. Jerome Chick Cam, along with more information, on our school website here.
Today, Fr. Reilly celebrated our May School Liturgy. Mrs. Badman’s first graders did a great job serving as readers and gift bearers.
Also, following the Mass, we recognized our Sudents of the Month for May: James Altomari, Benjamin Rodriguez, Giovanna Giannetti, Aidan Moore, Rebecca Toh, Ryan Chiaccio, Jailyn Diaz, David Nguyen, Cambree Kelly, Chloe Watson, Abigail Pesce, Brendan Vena, Ciera Schaeffler, Santiago Cruz, Ryleigh Dever, Chase Jerdan, Kierah Wisniewski, Matthew Cancelliere, Camryn Brescia, and Kyle Allmond. These students were recognized for living the virtue of diligence.
Tomorrow, Thursday is the Solemnity of the Ascension of our Lord, a holy day of obligation. Masses at St. Jerome are at 4:30 PM on Wednesday and at 6:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 7:00 PM on Thursday.
Last Thursday, we honored our Blessed Mother through our May Procession. We prayed together in church and then processed around the Immaculate Mary Home to pray with our neighbors. After returning to the church, we crowned our Blessed Mother. Our May Queen this year was Olivia Czapla, and our May King was Alessandro Damico. Assisting were the members of our May Court: Basia Brady, Camryn Brescia, Jeffrey Kolakowski, Samantha DeOliveria, Isabella Jenkins, Jamie O’Donnell, Emma Parkinson, and Gianna Raggio. Next year, we are looking to have a May Procession in the evening to be able to include all of you as well.
On Tuesday, June 7th, our school will be engaging in a morning of service after the 8:30 AM Mass. We will be assembling breakfast bags for Caring for Friends and Hope 101 who provide meals for the elderly/homebound and homeless, respectively. We are asking for donations of the following breakfast items:
- Tea bags
- Instant coffee packets
- Oatmeal packets
- Fruit cups & raisins
- Small, individual boxes of cereal (single serving)
Please send in donations by Monday, June 6th so that we can divide the items among the rooms and stuff the bags on Tuesday.
Please remember to take note of the RSVP deadline of Friday for our Home and School's Taste of Philly event. Details and the link are below.
We received a visit from the Philadelphia Police Department this morning, and the officer assured us that they will be stepping up patrols of area schools, including St. Jerome. They will also be doing a security assessment this summer to make sure that we are taking all of the necessary steps to keep our students safe based on the latest best practices. Let's all remember to pray for the families involved in the tragedy in Texas.
We are looking forward to Spirit Day next Wednesday, June 1st; all students should wear their gym uniforms (you may wear any St. Jerome shirt in place of the gym shirt if you would like). Our Home and School Association will be treating the students to water ice that afternoon.
I reminded the students this morning after we presented the Student of the Month certificates to hang in there and do their very best in these last two weeks are school. We are all (students, staff, and parents) getting to the end and see that finish line of summer in front of us. Let us work together, be patient with one another, and help each other as we move to a successful conclusion of the school year. Have a great Memorial Day weekend as we pray for the brave men and women who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may live in freedom.
See you on Tuesday; St. Jerome, pray for us!
