Trexler Middle School-Promoting Excellence-
Thank you Veterans!
On Tuesday, November 10th, Trexler Middle School honored our veterans by hosting “Bring a Vet to Lunch Day”. From World War II through present day active duty service members, Trexler staff welcomed 60 veterans. School counselors Amanda West and Deanna Ford, decorated the cafeteria red, white, and blue, and welcomed these special guests with banners, signs, and cupcakes. This was the first time the event was sponsored by the school, but the counselors look forward to making the day an annual event. The school felt that it was important to showcase our veterans because so many of the students have family members that have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. Students were able to take a break from the normal school day to eat lunch with their guest.
- Science Fair projects are due on November 23rd for 6th and 7th grad students.
- Progress reports go home on Tuesday, November 17th. Please be on the look out for those!
- Trexler Middle School will have a Geography Bee on 11/30 at 11:00AM. On 12/2 we are hosting the Onslow County Geography Bee at 7:00 PM in the Media Center.
After students have reviewed their notes, asked questions, categorized them and come up with the main idea they need to summarize the notes. In the summary students should state the main idea and then use their notes in the right side of the page to support their summary.
Next, students should use their notes as a learning tool. As students have been going through the Cornell Notes process they have been learning and making a study tool. Now, students can use their notes, questions, summary etc. to review for upcoming assessments.

Our lady soccer team had a great game against Hunters Creek Middle yesterday. It was a close game, but the Falcons prevailed in score 1-0 in a goal by Kiki Korengay as she pushed her way down the field through a tough defense. The Falcons worked together successfully to prevent the Panthers from scoring on our goal.
The girls soccer game originally scheduled for November 9th against Brewster Middle was postponed due to weather. It will be played at RHS at 4:00 on November 18th.
