“Beyond Barriers” is taking place to bring attention to the efforts and accomplishments of those of us with disabilities, the value of the ADA with highlighted achievements of what has – fortunately – changed over the past decades as well as raise awareness of efforts that can continue to ensure equal opportunity and access for all Rhode Islanders.
Twenty-five years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act extended civil rights to millions of Americans. Forty years ago, VSA embarked on a mission to expand arts and arts education opportunities to people with disabilities of all ages. These are indeed powerful reasons to rejoice - - and we hope you will be able come see the show that celebrates these achievements !
