Headphones
Each year we are surprised that so many students' headphones have such a brief lifespan. Several pairs have already stopped working!
It's very important that your child has a durable pair of headphones that provide good sound quality. Ones with partial hearing or none at all greatly affect your child's ability to perform as well as possible on I Station or other important online assessments.
Please check with your child to see if it's time to get a replacement pair of headphones. Also please note that to fit the deep headphone jack opening on our iPad cases, the headphones must have a straight connector. See the examples below.
As always, we are very grateful for your support!

Veteran's Day Activities
O.C. Taylor Tigers Salute our Veterans!
In honor of Veterans Day, we will collect Wal-Mart gift cards to donate to the Ft. Worth Veterans Hospital. Local veterans can use these gift cards to buy groceries, medications, household needs and even gas. Please turn in gift cards to your teacher or the OCT front office by Wed, Nov. 9.
Tip Your Hat to our Veterans day is Friday, Oct. 14 and Friday, Nov. 4. If you make a $1 donation to help our local veterans you can wear a hat to school! Please turn your dollar in to your teacher the morning of the event. We will add this money to our Ft. Worth Veterans Hospital donation. Thank you for your generosity, Tigers!
If you have a picture of a veteran you wish to hang on the Wall of Honor, please label your picture with your name, the veteran’s name and the branch of the military they served in. Turn in your pictures to your teacher or Mrs. Vencill by Fri., Nov. 4. Your pictures will be returned to you after Veterans Day.
Our 3rd and 4th grade students are preparing music to perform at our annual Veterans Day program Friday, Nov. 11 at 8:30 a.m. in the OCT cafeteria. 3rd and 4th grade students should wear red, white and blue for our performance. There is a reception in the library immediately following the program for Veterans, honored guests and their families.
Please contact Mrs. Vencill at Bethany.vencill@gcisd.net with any questions.
