Would You Like to Honor a Veteran?

Students are invited to ask parents/guardians if there are family members that have served in any branch of the U.S. military. This can include grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, or uncles. With the help of parents/guardians, students can complete information on the following document to be used in a Shannon Park hallway display. A copy of this document will also be coming home in Friday Folders. Feel free to provide a copy of the family member's photo (non-returnable) if you would like to have it displayed with the document. Please bring document and/or photo to school office by Wednesday, October 18. (Please do not send duplicate copies of the honored veteran if students have siblings, as all will be displayed in the hallways.)

From Our Preschool Friends:

We are off to a great start in Preschool. Thank you for your patience in the parent drop off line in the morning with our young learners as they are not allowed to get out of the car without a teacher coming to the car to get them. If you notice an orange sign in the car window, that is the family of a preschool student. During these first months of school, children have been developing a sense of community, trust, and belonging through relationships with teachers, families, friends and the environment. Children are learning about each other, the materials we use, the routines and rules that help us grow and keep us safe in both our indoor and outdoor environments. Our daily living and pumpkin patch have been very popular. We are looking forward to an amazing year ahead!
