We Need Your Help Combating TikTok Vandalism Trend
We have been made aware of a viral “bathroom challenge” or “devious lick” circulating on TikTok, where students are encouraged to vandalize school property and steal random items from their campus. This challenge is impacting neighboring districts and schools across the state, creating thousands of dollars of damage and sometimes closing bathroom facilities for repairs.
We are asking for your help. Please talk to your children tonight and make sure they understand it is not acceptable behavior. Vandalism to school facilities will not be tolerated and will be punishable to the fullest extent of the student code of conduct and the law. This includes the possibility of a Class B misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to 180 days in jail, a fine of up to $2,000, and restitution costs. Please contact the Community ISD Police Department or your campus administration to report an incident.
Thank you for your collective efforts in speaking with your student(s) about the importance of respecting school property and/or reporting vandalism as we work together to foster pride in our schools.
