From the Principal's Desk
Thank you for a wonderful conference period. We place high value on stakeholder collaboration and realize that working together to support your child/children will lead to the best results. A point of celebration is that over 150 SHOUT OUTS were completed for Bauer students and staff. These kind thoughts are encouraging and put air in the tires and gas in the tank! While we are moving away from the formal conference period, please know that we are always here to support you. If anything should come up, please let us know so that we can continue to work together for student success.
In closing, I'll share a wonderful poem which captures what we are doing, both as parents and teachers, in preparing a better world for our young people through sacrifice.
Take good care everyone
The Bridge Builder
By Will Allen Dromgoole
An old man going a lone highway,
Came, at the evening cold and gray,
To a chasm vast and deep and wide.
Through which was flowing a sullen tide
The old man crossed in the twilight dim,
The sullen stream had no fear for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.
“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near,
“You are wasting your strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day,
You never again will pass this way;
You’ve crossed the chasm, deep and wide,
Why build this bridge at evening tide?”
The builder lifted his old gray head;
“Good friend, in the path I have come,” he said,
“There followed after me to-day
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been as naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be;
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building this bridge for him!”

Kards For Karen
As many of you know, our beloved secretary Karen Opple planned to take medical leave this year, with the hope of returning next year. She has recently shared that she will be retiring. Many in the Bauer community have expressed a desire to show support and appreciation for Karen. Since December will be a challenging month of treatment and recovery AND we’d like to recognize Karen’s innumerable contributions to Bauer, the Parent Club Care Committee will be holding a “Kards for Karen” drive during the month of November. We will have several large cards for students to sign at school along with a card box in the office to collect personalized cards and gift cards from our families. We hope you’ll join us in recognizing Karen’s steadfast positivity and professionalism at Bauer! If you have any questions, please reach out to Jenny Montag at montagjn@gmail.com.
