What are we learning about.....

Last week we did more learning about insects and spiders (see above for some of our work). Our next study is on exercise and healthy bodies. We will learn about different types of exercise, a bit about muscles/bones and even have a yoga class (thanks to Genevieve's mom)! We also will learn about healthy eating and how important drinking water is. We see a lot of examples of healthy eating (fruits, veggies, whole grains) with our meals and meals sent from home - thanks!!

As we are doing yoga on Thursday make sure to wear something comfortable to exercise in!!

Our number this week for number bear is 3. Ask your child to bring you 3 of something! We are also learning about the letter F. F is made with 1 big line and 2 little lines (this is the language we use with our writing curriculum).

Other information/reminders.....

*As colder temperatures come (boo) please send a jacket with your child. We go outside daily.

*There were two forms (meal order for October and Impact Aid form) we sent home last week that need to be returned - check your child's backpack for those.

Parents can expect to learn helpful tips to strengthen their child’s skills in all areas so they are prepared to learn when they enter kindergarten. There will be a short presentation followed by opportunities to visit different “stations” designed to show parents activity ideas they can use to strengthen cognitive, communication, motor, math and literacy skills in their young child. The presentation will take place on Thursday, September 25 from 6-8 p.m. in the PLSD Central Office located at 420 S. Washington Street, Papillion. The presentation is free and open to the public. Childcare is not provided, but please feel free to bring your children and anything you need to entertain them during the session. Speech-Language Group- September 22-26, 2014

This week, we will review our Shake a Leg! book by recalling the actions and answering "What doing?" questions. We will follow directions placing our picture in a named container and then performing a named action. We will continue the song/rhyme "Did You Ever See an Earthworm?" focusing on the locations of in front/in back and over/under.

Did You Ever See an Earthworm?

(to the tune of Did You Ever See a Lassie?)

Did you ever see an earthworm,

An earthworm, an earthworm?

Did you ever see an earthworm,

Go this way and that?

Go in front and in back,

Go in front and in back,.

Did you ever see an earthworm,

Go this way and that?

Did you ever see an earthworm,

An earthworm, an earthworm?

Did you ever see an earthworm,

Go this way and that?

Go over and under,

Go over and under,

Did you ever see an earthworm,

Go this way and that?
