PVMS Band "Notes"

Week of 5-30-16

What a great weekend! I hope this message finds you enjoying the holiday with your family and would like to extend a special "thank you" to those of you who arranged your schedule to allow your student to participate in the Memorial Day Parade. It was great to see everyone out for the event!

We're getting down to the wire; here is what to expect this week:

It is a make-up week this week which means that all students who have missed one or more lesson this quarter have been scheduled. (percussionists have also been scheduled to do a playing assessment)

SOSP Rehearsal Video Recap

Last Saturday's rehearsal at the High School was great! Thank you for making arrangements to bring your student out for the morning-be sure to check out this video recap of the day!

Instrument Turn-in

Students will be turning in their school-owned instruments during the week of May 30 and we will be cleaning all school-owned brass instruments with our Ultrasonic machine on June 5th & 6th. This means that all students should plan on bringing their home instruments back to school during this week. We will check out instruments for current 6th graders to use over the summer the following week, once we have reconciled our inventory.

If students are renting an instrument from a music dealer and are not planning on practicing over the summer, it is their responsibility to return it to the appropriate location. Our Ward-Brodt representative will be picking up instruments during the last week of school so we will collect these instruments during the week of June 6.

Students will need their instruments for class during the last few weeks of school-we will be working on a composition/transcription activity in class. It should be fun!
